Me
"Me" is a word used to refer to oneself when a specific person is not identified. In philosophy and religion, "me" is generally interpreted to mean the self or the eternal self and is understood as the unified consciousness that distinguishes the subject from the world of objects, being the agent of perception, action, reaction, experience, thought, and will. Simply put, as everyone knows, "me" means oneself.
This exhibition is a continuation of the solo exhibitions "You" in June 2020 and "We" in February 2022. While the previous two exhibitions focused on the individual's relationship with others and social relationships within a community, the works in this exhibition primarily depict the hidden aspects of society as reflected through the artist's own dissatisfactions, rather than identifying and visualizing the irrational and nonsensical aspects of society as was the usual approach in my previous works.
"Me" is the smallest unit that makes up society. When you think about it, "you" are also "me," and "we" are all "me." In the process of focusing on the darker sides of our society, I have never intensely explored myself to view society. Therefore, I believe this exhibition will be the most personal one among all my solo exhibitions to date. I hope this point is well conveyed to the audience, allowing them to reflect on the aspects of our society mirrored in their own dissatisfactions as they view the exhibition.
